A Passage to India deals with the tragedy and confusion that stems from prejudice. Set in British India in the early 1920s, the story follows British schoolmistress Adela Quested as she visits India to meet her fiancé, Englishman Ronny Heaslop. Adela meets a variety of people, including the Indian doctor Aziz, and must find and face truth amidst the turmoil of racial prejudice and societal pressure.
